Last week was an eventful week in the press for me – Rockville 2069, the musical I’m acting in made it into two newspapers on one day. The first article was a feature on me in Stellenbosch’s Eikestad newspaper, and the second was a feature on the production as a whole in Die Burger (The Citizen) newspaper. Have a look:
Rehearsals are going really well, tiring as can be – but definitely going along as planned. Next week SABC 2’s magazine program Top Billing will be doing an insert on the show, this in addition to the cast’s live performance on early morning lifestyle program Espresso Show next week Thursday!
Saturday night at Aandklas was one of the most unforgettable, jaw dropping shows that we’ve done ever! The marketing campaign we entered into with the two other bands Elevated Motion and The Young Folks seemed to have worked massively with over 170 people through the door on the night – more than we’ve ever had a show of ours before. And the energy exuded by the crowd showed! When we went up, people were in it with us from the get go. All I could see was a sea of faces singing along to our music. Later we did a rap feature track that utilised three of my friends from the hip hop scene: Jerome Rex, Recruit and Reinhart Rymhard! It was off the proverbial chain! Check these cool shots taken by Nicole Boucher:
Tomorrow night I’m competing in the final of the Cape Town Acoustic ‘n Folk Music Festival Audition – the winner gets a spot at the festival and a free Alvarez guitar courtesy of Music Experience. Please support me if you get the chance, the bigger the rent a crowd the easier it is for me to rip it!
Expression Session Kuila once again included me in this month’s newsletter as well as an insert on Reinhart Rymhard’s new video Leemte (for which I produced the music). Check it out.
