My good friend Adrian Rogowski has become very serious about songwriting and possibly cultivating a career as a songwriter/producer. Part of this goal is to write and produce as many potential songs in as many genres as possible during his holiday break. So far what I’ve heard has been very impressive and he is solidly on his way to attaining that goal.
This weekend he asked me to come over and lend my vocals to an 80’s influenced tune he wrote called “Heart Beat“. Cheesy to the max and with all the 80’s music cliches rolled into one song – you can expect to hear the Phil Collin’s gated reverb snare drum from “In the Air Tonight”, lack of any hi-hat or cymbal instrument, the power guitar solo and the talkey singey style of vocal delivery from many 80’s songs (we referenced The Cure).
In terms of where he found the influence for the lyrics, I know he was inspired by this girl he likes – but he doesn’t want to admit it to himself. 😉
Please enjoy the heavy cheese and let me know what you think of it.
